Temporary Maths Teacher – Key Stage 3 & 4
Hemel Hempstead Hays Education is looking to recruit an experienced Maths Teacher on a temporary basis for a maternity cover to start in March 2010. It will be working for a lovely independent school based on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead. Maths is an important core subject at the school. The school aims are to develop pupils' confidence in using Maths to tackle and solve problems initially in school, but ultimately in the workplace and everyday life. Students are encouraged to use appropriate vocabulary and to consolidate their understanding of the Maths processes and so make progress in this important area of the curriculum. The provision of technology within the Maths department facilitates the delivery of the ICT elements of the curriculum as well as enabling interesting and varied lesson structure. All pupils also use the ICT suites throughout Key Stage 3 and 4 where appropriate. The department is located in the main house in a suite of rooms dedicated to the subject. This school will be looking for an experienced temporary Maths Teacher who can deliver classes to Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils. Although you are working on a temporary basis – ideally you will be proactive and adaptable to enable that you become to become a valuable member of the Maths department while you are there. The skills we will be looking for include: - Qualified Teacher Status either PGCE or Cert Ed
. Experience of teaching Maths – Key Stage 3 & 4 - Proven Teaching experience within the last 2 years

. Experience of working on a temporary or supply basis would be beneficial - Innovative and resourceful teaching methods
- NQT's or experienced Teacher
