At Smile Children's Support Workers are matched to support children based on their skills, experience and availability and we are looking to develop our team of bank workers across all areas of Birmingham including Sutton Coldfield, Coleshill, Kings Norton and Central Birmingham. These positions are zero hours which mean that although we do not guarantee to offer you any work on a regular basis neither are you required to accept any work offered if it is not convenient for you. We are able to offer hours of work before school, after school, weekends and school holidays. We aim to match your availability to the child's care plan based on your skills to ensure consistency.

Our aim is to provide a safe, warm, caring and stable environment for the young people in our care with Learning Disability (LD) and those within the Autistic Spectrum and including young people with a diagnosis of Asperger?s Syndrome. While also trying to create a respectful culture and ethos within the home in which the needs of the young people are paramount and they are encouraged to mature and achieve their full potential.

Some of your duties may include:

????????????? Providing care for young people and increase their interdependency and life skills.

????????????? Promoting self-esteem and self-awareness to young people.

????????????? Encouraging achievement and helping young people to achieve their full potential.

????????????? Co-operating with other professionals such as schools and social workers.

????????????? Upholding safeguarding policies and health and safety.

????????????? Maintaining records of young people?s progress.


????????????? A Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification

????????????? A minimum of 12 months experience working with children and young people in a similar role.
