SLT Education are currently seeking to appoint a SENCO/Assistant Head Teacher to join a secondary school based in Birmingham.

SLT Education are excited to announce that we are supporting a fantastic school, within a large multi-academy trust based in Birmingham in their search for an experienced Assistant Head Teacher. This exciting opportunity is available on an interim basis and is due to commence with immediate effect. The expected final date for this will be July 2019. ?

The school wish to appoint a substantive Assistant Head Teacher with extensive SEN knowledge and expertise. A professional from a SEN background is desirable and preferably a professional with a background in mainstream education. The appointed leader will be responsible for assisting senior leadership with general day-to-day running of the school centres as well as staff management and implementing strategies and processes for school improvement.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will be required to possess the following:

● Previous experience of middle leadership

● Previous experience of teaching in an Autism-specific environment

● Ability to work within the leadership team leading on areas across the school

● A passion for and desire to improve learning standards in line with SEN

● Ability to lead and manage a department within the school

● Desire to promote the school vision and ethos

● A commitment to an integrated, therapeutic approach and ethos

● Ability to demonstrate partnership working across the school, Trust and with external stakeholders

Ideally, you will be an ambitious and forward thinking individual as the academy trust plans to expand quite rapidly over the next few years, meaning a positive impact for their support teams.
