Learning Support Assistant (LSA) | Secondary School | Hammersmith | Permanent Opportunity | Interview ASAP

  • Learning Support Assistant position ideally Degree Educated
  • Interviewing now for an immediate start (June 2018) and one for the new academic year (September 2018)
  • MUST be able to provide 2 child related references within the last year

My partner Secondary School based in Hammersmith is seeking to appoint 2 Learning Support Assistants. The school is part of a multi academy trust and has excellent support systems in place for their staff members and have outstanding teaching practices.

The Learning Support Assistant’s (LSA) main role is to provide support for pupils with a statement of special educational needs. The LSA will ensure that pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.

  • This vacancy is designed for someone who can utilise their own initiative and use this as a real chance to develop their own teaching style

The Ideal LSA:

  • Support The class Teacher as well as delivering small group interventions in numeracy and literacy in line with the national curriculum
  • Support students with various Special Educational Needs
  • Work closely with the SENCO to create IEP's and EHC's
  • Promoting inclusion within the class
  • Use interactive aides to motivate and develop student's academic and behaviour attainment

To be eligible for this position, you will require:

  • To be degree educated or have equivalent qualifications
  • Proven and referenceable experience of working with children
  • An ability to build strong relationships with Teachers, pupils and parents
  • Strong organisational and timekeeping skills
  • An excellent understanding of the national curriculum and child safeguarding procedures
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Support students with SEND and provide 1-1 support
