33 Hours per week, term time only

This Role
Grade 4 EOTAS tutors will be responsible for working one to one with pupils who are currently not accessing mainstream education. The tuition may take place in the home, local library or at Springwell, therefore tutors must have access to their own vehicle and have business insurance included on their policy to enable them to travel across the borough.
Tutors will need to be self-motivated, have initiative and be able to work independently and be an accurate record keeper. The successful candidate will have the skills to build positive relationships and have unconditional positive regard for the children and young people they educate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who would like to teach within an SEN setting and candidates who would like to gain experience working as a 1:1 tutor.

This role is a 1:1 tutoring position in which, amongst other duties, you will be expected to:

  • Support provision for pupils with special needs
  • Promote the speedy/effective transfer of pupils across phases/integration into mainstream schools for those who have been absent due to illness
  • Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning/behaviour/ attendance
  • Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem
  • Undertake marking of pupils’ work and accurately record achievement/ progress
  • Ensure timely and accurate design, preparation and use of specialist equipment/ resources/ materials.
  • Assist in the development of lesson/ work plans, administration of coursework, work sheets etc
