Secondary History Job, Salisbury. January Start (Maternity cover)

Your new school
You will join an 11-16 Secondary school based just outside of Salisbury, boasting a successful Humanities department, which takes pride in maintaining a record of success at GCSE and a reputation for setting and maintaining high academic standards at all levels. In a recent department review, the work and teaching was described as Good.

Your new role
You will be delivering History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will ensure all students are driven towards high levels of achievement and create a classroom environment where pupils are confident to ask for support. Your passion for History will be evident in your engaging lessons and enthusiasm in teaching the subject.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will be an outstanding teacher of History and have evidence of your strong pupil focussed approach. You must have experience of engaging a variety of student abilities in your History lessons, as you will be teaching a mixture of pupils from passive learners to those that are gifted and talented. You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (QTLS and SET membership). NQTs are welcome to apply.
