Impact Teachers are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Sociology teacher who is able teach KS5 for a position in Barnet, London.

This role requires a teacher to begin after the upcoming half term break. The ideal candidate must also have the vision, energy and drive to work with young people, raise awareness of their achievements and contribute to general school life. As a professional you will be required to cover all duties expected of a teacher.

Key Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum to pupils.
  • Liaising with the staff team to develop programs of learning.
  • Assessing and reviewing student development.
  • Utilizing modern technology in the classroom (e.g. SMARTBoard, MS Office package) is an advantage.

This is a popular and oversubscribed sixth form college specialising only in A Level qualifications. Achievement levels are consistently high and perform well above sixth form college averages. The college sets high standards and Ofsted has observed that there is effective sharing of outstanding practice and excellent support for teachers to develop. Classes are small and average just 20, allowing for more individual attention for each student and the ability to stretch the class academically. The expertise and commitment of staff are recognised and appreciated by the students and they have a strong motivation to succeed.
