A secondary school for 11-18 year olds is looking to employ a cover coach, this is a unique position and the ideal way for a sports graduate or sports coach to get into teaching in schools.

As a cover coach you will be teaching the core subjects, English, Maths and Science, to years 7 - 11 using a sport context. This is a fun and exciting way to get the students involved in not only the core subject but also making sport a crucial part of their learning. It is a full time, permanent position working 36 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year. There is no marking involved, you will have some planning to do, but that will work alongside the National Curriculum.

Your lessons will be either practical or theory based and you will be working closely alongside the core subject teacher as well as the PE department. You will need to support the individual needs of each student and work closely with them to support them in their learning, to achieve the best possible results.

The school are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic level 2 coaches of any sport, who has experience with working with children aged 11 - 16. You will be covering absent teachers in the core subjects as well as assisting the PE teachers. The ideal candidate needs to be organised and flexible not only in the lessons that you take, but also in taking extra curricular sports clubs.
