School Business Manager Job
We are currently working with a Secondary School in Coventry who require a suitable experienced Business Manager or Bursar on an interim basis. Main responsibilities for this role are as follows: - Budget monitoring and planning;
- Premises – maintenance, repair and contractors;
- Facilities management;
- Managing non-teaching support staff team;
- Managing contract services;
- Liaising with Governing Body and outside agencies; The successful candidate will:
- Be a team player and be instinctively consultative.
- Be capable of working with considerable autonomy, whilst understanding the difference between independence and insularity.
- Have, and set for others, very high standards of administration, organisation and communication.
- Be a natural self starter and problem solver.
- Think lucidly and creatively
- Be articulate and persuasive both orally and in writing.
- Be discreet, loyal, and sensitive with highly confidential information.
- Be capable of arguing a position strongly whilst accepting with good grace an alternative outcome.
- Have taken recent and relevant steps to actively develop the skills appropriate to this post.
- Be able to handle a very extensive work load with calmness and good humour, and be able to cope with stress and stressful situations.
Key Experience/Skills - Experience of working in a similar role in an education environment is essential;
- Good working knowledge of SIMS;
- Ability to manage a team;
- Good organisational and communication skills;
- Ability to use own initiative;
- Experience of monitoring and planning budgets.
- management of all financial and budgetary functions of the school. Experience of a similar role (particularly within an educational environment) and a recent Enhanced CRB will be advantageous.
