A 'Good' school in Chorley require a Year 5 teacher to complete the academic year from May half term.
Your new company
Your new school in based on the outskirts of Chorley and set within a semi-rural environment. The school is a medium sized school with over 200 children on roll. The leadership team are looking to appoint a year 5 teacher to start after the May half term and complete the rest of the academic year with the year 5 class. The assignment may continue into the new academic year but this will be based on the success you have with your class during the initial period.
Your new role
You new role will be set within a vibrant year 5 class of roughly 26 pupils with mixed abilities. You will be supported by an experienced TA (full-time) who has already built a great rapport with the children and has a strong understanding of the children with specific needs within the class. You will be responsible for all areas of teaching a learning, such as planning, marking and assessment. You will also need to attend after school engagements such as parent's evenings. Although it isn't mandatory, after school extra-curricular opportunities may also be available for you to lead.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to be a fully qualified teacher with experience teaching in Key Stage 2. Applications from NQT's will be considered. You will need to have a strong set of behaviour and classroom management skills to ensure the schools high standards are maintained. The ability to differentiate your teaching in crucial to ensure you raise the attainment of all pupils in your class. You will be to be able to commit to the full length of the assignment and be willing to promote the school positive learning ethos.
