Science Academic Mentor required for a central Birmingham school to start at Easter, £60 per day

Your new school
A local community schools in central Birmingham have a vacancy for a Science specialist teaching assistant to join their team at Easter. You will need to have experience of working in a Science Department in a teaching assistant capacity or be a Science graduate with experience working with secondary aged pupils.

The Science department within the school promote the realisation that Science links to the world we live in and all aspects of life, creating a stimulating, rewarding and engaging learning experience for all students.

Your new role
As an academic mentor, your role will involve supporting individuals and small groups in their KS3 and KS4 GCSE curriculum to help raise achievement and improve understanding and attainment. Experience at KS5 would also be advantageous.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be confident with the three Science subjects and have experience of working with small groups of lower ability pupils and those on a GCSE grade border line.

Experience taking groups independently and delivering subject material independently would be an advantage and you must be confident managing classroom behaviour.
