Candidate Details

As a history graduate and qualified PGCE PCE teacher I have just completed a long term placement teaching history to years seven, eight, nine and A2 level. I planned and prepared all lessons in alignment with national curriculum and teaching practices within the school.

Ba (Hons) History, PGCE Post Compulsory Education.

As a qualified supply teacher I have experience of teaching across the curriculum from KS2 primary up to and including AS/A2, and now, looking to secure a more permanent position within education. My rationale for applying is based on both my life skills and experience within a wider spectrum of education.

My teaching roles have equipped me with a plethora of knowledge and transferable skills that are relevant at all levels. I am experienced in teaching children with learning difficulties, SEN, behavioural problems, lack of confidence and self-esteem, but with support, perseverance and trust these children can achieve.

More recently I have taught in both private and state schools long term from KS2 and KS3. I was responsible for all planning, marking and assessments to ensure children achieved their levels and above as prescribed by the DofE. My remit was successfully met.

In a more administrative role alongside my teaching remit, I have been responsible for tracking attendance, liaising with the attendance office, form tutor and delivered Asdan and Cope programmes of learning for students with low ability. To ensure progression with learning and targets, I attend meetings and organise various interventions where discussions, assessments, preferred learning styles and IEPs are developed and tailored to ability.

I am able to organise and prioritise essential tasks and administrative requirements. I communicate effectively with both colleagues and other professionals and competent when using IT packages. Additionally, I am able to manage and teach schemes of work, prepare lessons, proficient when using reprographic equipment i.e. copiers, printers etc. and delivering well planned interactive lessons. These objectives were met to the above standard required by my various in line managers and heads of departments. Furthermore, I am reliable, trustworthy, familiar with current education legislation and able to work independently or as a team member.

I have given a brief overview of my skills and professional abilities and to conclude I always complete tasks through to conclusion and consider myself to be a conscientious and approachable member of staff to colleagues, students and parents. And finally, I am an enthusiastic teacher, competent organiser and administrator as evident in my statement, committed to continuous professional development and submit my application for your perusal.
