Dear Sir& Madam,

I am a dedicated and dillegent teacher, translator and interpreter for countless years; As well as linguist and anthroplogist. I am passionate about promotiung and sustaining a dynamic atmosphere in classrooms, constantly encouraging and allowing curiosity to grow in order to help aide students in flourishing academically. I love working with different cultures and enjoy teaching and learning about the beautifull differences found in their cultural heritage. I have taught in a myriad of countries: Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Great Britain.

I come with an extensive wealth of experiences from my career in education, where I have taught in primary, secondary and sixth form. I am an Arabic & Islamic studies teacher for KS3, KS4 and KS5 at Sherborne Qatar in Doha where I have taken on the position of Head of House in addition to complete pastoral responsibility for Year 8. I have thoroughly enjoyed living and working in Doha, I feel fortunate to be working for a thriving MFL department where I have developed both personally and professionally.

I truly believe that building a positive relationship with pupils and their parents is at the core to effective learning. At Sherborne Qatar, I have worked tirelessly to include engaging activities in my lessons, to strengthen my pupils team building, communication and leadership skills. I aim for every child to enjoy learning my subjects by employing a creative approach to teaching including opportunities for paired and group work. I believe that using ICT in lessons contributes positively to the students’ engagement and motivation to learn a foreign language (interactive languages websites, iPad applications and PPT presentations truly aid learning). Within the MFL department, I advocate the use of ICT in language classrooms as a powerful teaching aid during lessons to positively contribute towards students’ engagement and motivation to learn the Arabic language (interactive languages websites, iPad applications and PPT presentations truly aid learning). I always feel ready to bring in new ideas and apply them to my teaching.

I run after school Arabic classes for staff, pupils and parents. I have enjoyed being involved with setting up events and competitions in collaboration with the Islamic Museum and Qatar University. My departments main focus is to foster rich experiences for our pupils, due to myself having experience in radio I enthusiastically continue to encourage pupils to participate in language and cultural events at Aljazeera broadcasting in Doha. I enjoy being actively involved in extracurricular activities, including chess, volley ball, football and table tennis to help strengthen my relationships with pupils across the school.

Kind Regards,
Mr. (name removed)
