My passion for languages, the cultural exploration that multilingualism entails has permeated my entire life experience hitherto and my strong believe that the ability to communicate with others is an essential life skill led me to study a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in MFL. During my PGCE and prior to that, I have worked in a wide range of Primary and Secondary schools where I gained a lot of experience in term of teaching methods and school management. Working in different school environments helped me to improve my confidence in communicating and enhanced my intercultural skills. My linguistic ability and my experience living and working abroad allowed me to communicate to teachers, parents and students from a diverse range of backgrounds and working with different cultures nationalities puts me in a very good position to teach EAL pupils effectively.

During these invaluable experiences, I also learnt how to help pupils overcome their learning difficulties providing suitable supports and how to solve behavioral issues in the best interest of my pupils building good relationships with parents and members of staff relationships and negotiating together practical solutions.
For me, language teaching is synonymous with cultural exchange: by fostering an interest in language, we stimulate intercultural awareness and empathy for others. In addition to my work, I take pride in having taken an active part in my school community. In my role as a French native teacher, I took the initiative to set an after-French school club to help my students for their GCSE exam. Having the desire to unearth new cultures and open doors that I feel only language skills can bring. I have implemented Arabic and Spanish languages in this club.

Nowadays, where ICT is becoming more and more essential to our daily lives, it is crucial that we, as teachers, respond to advancements in technology in order to enrich the learning experience of our pupils. I regularly use iPads, interactive whiteboards and different ICT materials to assist in performing activities and to engage the pupils in my lessons. Judicious use of ICT in the classroom is beneficial in motivating pupils and preparing them for life outside of school

Passionate and enthusiastic about teaching my subject, I believe my combination of passion, skills and desire to teach will be a valuable asset to my new school. As a proactive and a highly motivated, creative individual with a passion for languages and culture and the ability to maintain solid and successful working relationships that put the learning and progress of pupils first, I feel that coupled with my experience I have all the necessary qualities to be an effective member of the MFL department.
