Notes

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am looking for a full-time permanent position as a SEN Teaching Assistant. I am very passionate in working with SEN children and ensuring that I, as part of a team do everything possible to ensure that each individual learner reaches their full potential. I am wanting to specialise as a SEN Teaching Assistant and totally believe in enhancing my career by learning from other skilled staff, CPD and in house training schemes.

I am a professional teaching assistant who engages with all learners. I have a patient, calm, creative, positive, flexible and structured attitude within the school environment.

My passion, skills and experience have lead me to pursue a career in the area of teaching those with spacial educational needs (SEN).

Through my vast experience I have built up a love for teaching and strive to make a difference for children who may have barriers restricting them from reaching their full potential. I am enthused by the prospect of breaking these down and enabling them to enhance their learning and develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in the process. I have first hand experience working with autistic learners and children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, Asperger's Syndrome, as well as other learning difficulties within a school/ other environment's.

As someone with lived experience of a disability from a young age, I am well placed to understand the difficulties children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) face. I believe living with a disability places me at an advantage as it helps me to be a role model to learners with SEND and have the ability to empathise with their experiences and the barriers they face in every day life.

I have not been held back by my experiences and have gained high academic accomplishments and have a proven track record in tutoring children with SEND, with a very high success rate in improving their life chances.

Although my speech is slightly slowed my communication is excellent and my ability to manage children's learning experience is not affected.

I have a CACHE Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. In addition I have extensive knowledge and experience about working with SEN children within a school environment and also in other settings. I have a current and up to date Enhanced DBS certificate.

I have a wide ranging experience of working on a one-to-one basis with learners and also teaching and supporting a group of primary aged students under the direction of the classroom teacher, for example, listening to them read, monitoring and helping them with writing, explaining numeracy and literacy, science and indoor PE as well as other activities whilst explaining acceptable behaviour throughout the school day. I have monitored learners in the play ground encouraging good behaviour, waiting to take turns in team games and also supervising learners during lunch times. I have used the basics of Makaton to communicate with learners within a SEN school environment. I also have basic knowledge of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).

I am looking for an opportunity to work within a SEN school as of 2017, working to enrich and enhance the learning of all pupils and to work within a dedicated and professional team.

I have attached an up to date copy of my CV.

Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact me on (number removed) .

Thankyou for your consideration and look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,
