I am an enthusiastic and innovative person with a strong interest in teaching numeracy skills and ICT. I have an impeccable work ethic towards developing maths thinking skills, especially in conjunction with ICT, with a view to enhancing problem solving abilities in real life situations. As an outstanding communicator, I aim to inspire students to realise their full potential and achieve better grades and higher qualifications. Beyond that, I hope to encourage them to think about how they can use such skills in the workplace and their own lives.

Presently, I am working as maths tutor for Maths intervention classes for GCSE 2018 through an agency. My previous experience in teaching maths for 20 years GCSE and GCE AS and A level helps me to develop using maths in real life situation.

I believe I have developed a useful method by which young people are able to understand and identify where they become lost along the path to understanding mathematics in their learning journey. Also, leads to how they might find their way back. In the meantime, I develop my own bespoke maths worksheets for individual or small group.

The present trend I is that, most of the young people are frightened for maths exams and using maths in their life challenges. I use a unique approach to train them to use their maths skills, solidifying their existing knowledge and encouraging them to rise to higher levels, where they are able to pass the required examinations and also use maths in their lives as a tool to empower themselves.

I have produced up to 80% pass rate in maths functional skills EL3, F1 and F2, with many students providing feedback that their confidence with numbers has extended beyond the scope of the exam syllabus and manifested as an ability to work with numbers to benefit their lives outside the classroom.
